Jim Ellermeyer is joined this week by writer and poet Sheena Caroll to discuss her inspirations creativity to getting into writing, taking control of her focus into writing, dissociating ourselves with our active lives, and shares some of her work. 

Jim Ellermeyer and Michael Sorg discuss the distraction of money in our lives. What happens if money is a barrier to our life goals? What happens if you keep the receipts for everything you buy in a month and look at them?  How do you change your thinking on how you use your money. How can we declutter our life?

Singer/songwriter Jasmine Tate joins Jim Ellermeyer this week to talk about her work as an artist and passion, her mentors, her religion, her message, the root of situations, and we discuss an encounter Jasmine had at a local McDonald’s with some teenagers asking them to pray.  

Jim Ellermeyer discusses some of his ventures chatting with people on Twitter, adding depth to conversations and using our language,  predicting responses, the appreciation of where you are in your life, herd mentality and making “good” choices.  

Jim Ellermeyer continues his discussion with Imam Hamza Perez as we visit the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh as we discuss the common misconceptions of Muslims and the religion of Islam.  We discuss the connections with Christianity, the true meaning of Jihad, the power of women scholars in Islam, the concept of covering everything from your body to items in the religion, and more.

For the next few weeks, we visit the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh and have a chat with Imam Hamza Perez about his upbringing from Puerto Rico to Worcester, MA.  We discuss his experiences growing up with some hardships and how that applies to his youth services.  We discuss the examples that Prophet Muhammad sets for modeling behavior, and his conversion to Islam.   We look at the idea of a corrupted religion background, the ego, and how he keeps it in check. 

What happens to the digital us when you die?  James Ellermeyer and Michael Sorg have a fun and frank conversation about what happens  to our digital selves when we pass, storing your online media with archive.org, making sure these technologies are assistants instead of hindrances, our interest in looking back on the year, the idea of the anti New Year’s Resolution to push yourself further.  

We conclude our conversation with comedian and social vigilante Krish Mohan about battling hate, points of views, looking at issues from new angles,  learning the facts behind the issues against time to live life, and more! 

Krish Mohan continues his conversation with us starting with a challenge to change vocabulary and showing choices to people, experimenting with a focus,  the need for fear, and changing yourself before trying to change others. 

Krish Mohan continues his conversation with us about his thoughts on using humor to deal with uncomfortable subjects, opening people to tough topics as we explore his comedy philosophy, developing his web series and his developing a way to communicate information, attacking those you disagree with, and “winning” arguments and debates.

We get to know Krish Mohan about his comedy, moving from India  about his moral alignment,  how he developed into his rebellious thinking, the reaction to his comedy from his Indian community, setting expectations,  and his  need to do comedy and create.  

We conclude our discussion with Joanna Lowe about more of her music including “Love Song” looking at different takes on love and what it can do.  What is the message that she can send to her daughter in this day and age of helping young girls develop.  

We continue our discussion with Joanna Lowe and growing out of her evolution into a performing artist and her experiences since.   She talks about her outlook on life after her experiences and living intentionally.  Joanna tells us about the meaning behind some of her poems on her album including “Mama’s Lullaby” discussing her transition being without her daughter after her divorce. 

Katie Dudas is the Director of Sales and Marketing at The Scarehouse, and  joins Jim Ellermeyer to discuss managing expectations in the world of customer service and the paranormal. She discusses more of her experiences and the tools, including malevolent entities, responding to possible danger, we talk about what Katie does when she’s not working around scary things, and working around Social Media.

Katie Dudas is the Director of Sales and Marketing at The Scarehouse, and joins Jim Ellermeyer to discuss fear around Halloween and haunted houses like the one she works with.   Katie discusses her experiences playing creepy dolls and zombies in her early days with the group.  She discusses overcoming her own fears in attempting to act, heights, and public speaking.  We also discuss a paranormal experience Katie had as a budding ghost hunter.  

Joanna discusses moving to Pittsburgh and loving that feeling of sucking it up and making changes, self perception and confidence around theater, the therapy and worth that came from her music and theater work, and overcoming her fear in her first spoken word performance.
